Depending on how much data or speed you need, if where you're staying has wifi, and your need of internet beyond your phone out and about I would suggest one option of using your smartphone as a mobile hotspot if you plan allows it (and check how much your plan allows). Using your smartphone as a mobile hotspot is a simple approach. Any carrier could be a challenge based on where you are and what their coverage is there.

Google Fi might be an option for your needs. Iirc when I had looked at it they used several carriers and don't have contracts so you can turn off and on as needed.

Biggest question is what is your need in GB per month and do you need mobile hotspot away from where you're staying.
