Yes, there's nothing to chamfering. Several different ways of doing it too. Proper way involves setting the compound at the desired angle and manually feeding it. Sometimes, I just do it manually by running the carriage and cross-feed -- one in each hand and taking the corner off.

LH thread is easier because the carriage moves away from the shoulder as it's cutting the thread. When you run off the end of the shaft, you have plenty of room to stop and it doesn't much matter where you do. RH has it moving toward the shoulder and after you get about so deep, you don't want the tool to crash into the edge. Stop too soon and you soon have a bunch of unfinished thread near the shoulder.
