NW Wisconsin | My mother was a school teacher who taught me how to read at the age of 4. At the 2 room country school I attended, the teacher suggested to have me skip 4th grade which happened. It was fine academically, socially no problem, but a year behind physical development competing in high school sports. Agree with other posters though, would not agree at this early age to skip a grade to help the school out.
