North of London
I'm probably north of you and have not seen much for northern lights for many years.
I think the last cycle of sun spots, 11 years ago, was pretty much a wash out so that puts us back around the year 2000 and I don't think it was real great.

The best I remember was in the 1980ies.
Remember coming home from dumping a load of wheat in late July and sky was lit all the way up and I swear you could 'hear' them.
Kids were in bed but we got them up to have a look.

BTW apparently you can see the latest sunspot with eclipse glasses and it is similar size to the Carrington Event sunspot.
Have been going to try to see it but too much cloud again today.
They did say this one was not expected to cause the problems that they saw in the Carrington Event.

Wondered if it maybe isn't pointed as directly at earth as C Event but we don't need things being set on fire and of course no telegraphs around this time
