Last year, the guys "here" that planted corn in the first early window got dinged pretty decent. lost 3-4000 stand count. I am sure that that alone made early corn planters a little less aggressive here.

Guys planting beans "got something done" and didn't have to fret about corn sitting in the ground. Replanting beans, in the grand scheme of things, doesn't hurt as much, or have the impact that replanting corn does.

I don't think you lose much yield in most of Iowa if corn is planted by May 31. That is still 3 weeks away....

I am eager to make observations about my neighbors, but awfully shy about judging them.
