Subject: RE: Working RTK Base Station for less than $1,000

Middlesex County, Ontario
I'm just commenting back for the sake of pictures.

First up is my base, Ardusimple micro F9P, Raspberry Pi, a small PCB I made, a 24v to 5v voltage regulator so that I can send power through ethernet. The aluminum waterproof box is screwed to the side of my chimney. Its been up on my chimney for 2 years and has never gone down. I have 3 of my own tractor running AgOpenGPS connected to it, a guy 20 miles West running Trimble TMX, and a guy 10 miles East running AgOpenGPS. Connection is NTRIP (over internet). In the tractor I either hotspot my phone or my autosteer tablet has a SIM card and a $10/month data plan. I can remotely connect/diagnose/setup my base from anywhere through a VPN on the Pi.

The guy 20 miles away is a bit far if you go by the textbook rules, so I've helped him set up his own base now. Ardusimple micro F9P, Raspberry Pi, a small PCB I made. Power comes from a phone charger and USB. This one is being mounted inside.
