There is no cylinder deactivation system on the L8T.
I can't say whether it has AFM lifters or not, though. Back in the LS days, some non-AFM engines had AFM lifters, but didn't have any provision to activate them. It's possible the L8T might do something similar just for more parts commonality with the other LT engines, but I don't know.
