Ripley, Ontario Canada | Owning 2 acres here is nowhere near enough to pay my local land prices. If you are honest with your figures here and interest is 6-7% which I think is a reasonable number for a smaller borrower you need 13-15 acres paid for to handle a 25 year loan on land. Even dropping to half doesn’t really make land work here. Definitely a bubble built by people that were born after 1960. I have been farming on my own since 99 and until this current rise interest has only gone down. It’s not really back to what I started at in 99. Leveraging has always worked until now.
