Northern IN | Mike Plumer did a lot of research in southern Illinois on management of annual ryegrass. I got to hear him speak a couple times and he felt that Roundup is the best method for getting a complete kill. He said you can kill it with Gramoxone but it takes multiple passes so your results would be expected but may not be a bad thing if you can get extended erosion prevention. Mike put together some guidelines for killing it with glyphosate. I’ve been using ARG for 15 years now and have never had a problem killing it while following his rules. I think you’re on the right track waiting a bit to spray as it will probably respond better to roundup once it’s a little more active. That field will be ugly from the road for a while but I think you’ll be ok. I’m enjoying following this one. Please keep us posted on how it goes this season. | |
