But it yields the same as a burned up acre of 0 bushel corn.    Like you said, soil type, topography, drainage and then throw in irrigation or not.

From my experiences, both extremes suck and wreak havoc on both APH's and bank account balances.     Crop insurance helps but with enough years of suck strung together in a continuous line you're insuring less and less every year.
