I don't get the seed damage argument at all.... now is the drill getting good consistent depth? into moisture? if not then yes you will be disappointed in your stand and it can look like seed damage I suppose. But I would argue its poor seed placement equaling uneven or failed germination that cause your stands to look ugly.
