In 2019 there were 92 million users. If we follow your theory, we should have a majority of the general public, perhaps 50 million, clamoring to change the statin prescription do to side effects. That is not the case. The vast majority of people have no side effects and don’t go on social media announcing they don’t have side effects. But the relatively small percentage that do have a painful side effect let their voice be heard loudly through social media. When researching a drug through social media, this distorts the perception that the drug has severe side effects.

The self fulfilling prophecy of statins will cause you pain and not help, is verified in one’s mind when that is the information they seek out on the internet.

I don't see where JB quoted any numbers to base your counter point on, only you have provided these percentages. Perhaps I did not read close enough.

Please pick one or more of the studies and explain why it is a sound and valid study with real results.

"Based on our findings, we conclude that most recent meta-analyses of statins for primary prevention do not adequately address the question they seek to answer. "

Remember, we are talking about statins for those WITHOUT diagnosed cardio vascular disease, such as MaineFarmer's relative that has "no heart issues". The studies show reasonably repeatable benefits for statins when the patient has diagnosed CVD.
