| Since so many people are taking statins long term, there has been a large increase of the number of people with memory loss/dementia/ALZ.
That used to be listed as a side effect of taking a statin, but somewhere along the way that side effect was hidden away.
Everyone's brain needs that big fluffy cholesterol, but that is the kind that statins decrease, not the small dense cholesterol that does harm.
I know many people who have severe muscle pain from their statins, but they trust that their doctor is correct in all things every time and don't even want to try a different kind of statin.
Watching a very active older person be sidelined due to muscle pain is pretty sad, but at least the doctor gets a bonus for getting another patient on those pills. | |
