Subject: RE: Corn following Cereal Rye

So usually strip till on 140# actual N with NH3 in late November, with the c. rye already up, but obviously the stripping clears out relatively rye free strips.
This year had enough rye growth it was hard to still see the strips, with some of the rye up to knee high. Started planting 4-13, then sprayed the rye right before the 4-16 storms with 10 gal. of 32% added. Pics taken this morning after about " of rain over the weekend.
Having a relatively free strip to plant into I think really helps against negative rye effects, as does being able to add some additional N at or after planting.
