I never said it was simple. A very small number of managed funds managers may use some sort of fundamental input in their propriety trading models, but every one of them uses a chart. It's how they determine their risk vs reward, where might they find an opportunity, and in the case of what this thread is about, where they are going to start to cover. I am gonna guess that what they do with that chart will be dramatically different though. No money manager in their right mind would make a decision on a once a month number(at best), and more likely once a quarter when the important information is released by the USDA. That would be a good way to be looking for new career in really short order. So poo poo them all you want, the big money uses charts.
