NE SD | There were actually multiple ways they got around it. Some were just a DB44 completion kit and shipped as a DB60 with a DB44 serial tag. Some were shipped as 65' toolbars, and some were shipped as a 26 row 30" with the outside two rows being on extensions that bolted between the marker and frame with the row unit being behind the marker. Most guys including us shipped those extra row units and extensions back. There were a handful of them around that raised them up for corn, but ran as a 26 row machine for beans.
As far as converting toolbars goes, it's not as simple as one might think even from a 36r20 to a 24r30 or vise versa. The center frames are different widths with different wing "arm" lengths, etc.
