Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Yes, it is easy enough to disassemble. Just take out all the screws and the halves will come apart. Inside you will find a turbine that spins inside a hub and housing. Obviously any debris will cause the turbine to stop or spin slower than it should.
The turbine spins within some glass like bushings and end adjustment. The turbine shaft can get worn or the glass bushings may be damaged. Remove the turbine and examine the shaft, the bushings and the inside of the turbine hub assembly. If the turbine shaft is worn, the turbine can drag against the outside which will be evident by scratch type marks on the wall.
The Raven 60P would be the best replacement. Its dimensions are quite close to the RFM 55 and should be able to be installed without too much modification to your plumbing. |
