Virginia, Northern Neck | The bend is usually close to the end of the axle.
I have repaired many of those, for neighbors, by heating the axle near the hub, and bending it back.
For my own use, I will not bother doing that.
If a light duty axle gets bent, it makes more sense to replace it.
Heavy duty axles generally do not bend, the springs fail first.
