That would be my take. Not saying the above guy is making something up, but I sit on a co-op board and I see no way other way around. Unless there was a provision in the by-laws already.
Thing I've learned about being on a board is that there are some good stories going around, especially when you start projects or do something bigger. You generally don't hear anything from patrons either, unless it is negative! :)
Oh, it's real letter. I think mine has been tossed already, but they're requiring $10K of purchases OR $30K in grain sales. IIRC, it was board action. The last merger gave the board pretty broad powers.
Shrug.
The CEO likes to complain that farmer-owners don't treat the company as owners should. I told him that was a two way street, and that it was his policies that were sending my corn to the ethanol plant. |
