Subject: RE: Cost of tractor emission

East of Broken Bow
Last year, I had to replace a diesel power unit that runs an irrigation system.
Cost at the time for a 'fully remanufactured' engine was in round numbers, $8,000. This was an engine basically fully rebuilt to all new specs, with a new turbo, injection and lift pumps, water pump, clutch, and a few other things. Since I had a non-emissions engine, it was acceptable to replace it with a rebuilt engine with the same emissions rating. They gave me $1500 for the core if I remember right.
A new engine, with emissions was right at $16,000, complete without clutch. Same engine just with emissions.
