McCanna, ND | I grew German millet I believe a few years ago. Growing conditions were fairly dry but the ground was absolutely saturated (pp ground). Planted around the first week of July and we cut it for hay in September I’m thinking. Definitely wouldn’t call it a full season crop. If you can cut it before it heads out I think it might grow back. Yield was okay, protein was around 10% but I missed the ideal time to cut by probably 7-10 days. | |
