Subject: n540C Deere 15in air seeder in corn stalks?

SD

We are planting our first soybean crop using a n540c John Deere 15in air seeder. We are wondering about the performance of the drill in standing corn stalks. Should we be worried about plugging and potentially hairping seed. Some fields are irrigated and most are dryland.

What angle do you run compared to corn rows?
Does soil type make a difference?
Do we change up downforce in different amounts of residue?
Obviously shouldn't try when stalks are damp.

We have the option of running a VT before but would like to save on cost, work load, moisture etc.

And anything else that will be handy knowing about the 540c would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
