Amherst WI | I have heard similar stories here as well. They grow one crop and paid for the land they bought the year before on the courthouse steps. Hard to do that legally today.
The older I get the more I think luck plays into farming more than anything. Oh, I know management can play a big role, but timing can make or break you no matter how good you are. I think I am a good farmer, not the best by any means but luck seems to have got me where I am more than anything and I will freely admit that. | |
