I'm very sorry for your loss.  We no longer give checks to requested charities because they must sell our information to others and we are inundated with requests from others.

My wife gets a request for money from some charity every few days.  We're pretty sick of it.

We will give money to the family and if they want to donate to a charity that's fine.  I hope people understand, we aren't looking for recognition.
