| I don't want to derail gene champs thread about grief share so I'll put this here. Our 18 year old son suddenly collapsed and died six years ago. I see a couple others mentioned losing a child in genes thread. I want to let people know about a group my wife and I found a couple years after our son died. It is called Compassionate Friends. It's a group for parents that have lost a child of any age from any cause. It has done us more good than anything else in this journey. We make a 400 mile round trip almost every month and spend the money on a hotel since the meetings hardly ever end before 9pm. But what we have gained from going is well worth it. It's a whole different level losing a child and these people understand it. Not to take away from anyone elses loss but we didn't understand either until our son passed. There are many chapters across the nation and even world wide. | |
