I think it takes about 2 years to establish from seed. I like it for tonnage and durability in saturated areas  .  I interseeded some on about 20 acres of my pasture a year ago. Not a saturated situation, but in a flood plain and hard to keep other species thriving.  Waiting to see if it "took" or not.
