Yes, you had to be in an area of totality to appreciate it. We are in ECIL and where we live was 99.7%. Everything that I read said that the difference between 99.7 and 100 was a lot. So we drove 40 miles south and experienced 2 minutes of totality. It looked just like the OP’s pictures. And yes, it was awesome. Couldn’t believe all the vehicles I saw. Especially from WI and MN.
