Northeastern Pa.
My dad never left the farm, but mom would take us to the beach every year. We went to Ocean Grove NJ. which at that time was called Gods square mile but a mile up the boardwalk was Asbury Park and a whole other world that I would call satins square mile We always walked the boardwalk to Asbury Park and turned around and went back. This was in the 60's and early 70's after the riots burned a lot of Asbury Park. When I was about 16 I decided to take the walk to and on the Asbury Park boardwalk by myself. I'm sure I looked like a country bumpkin and immediately had a guy "drug dealer" walk up to me and said take this package to ? I immediately turned around and headed towards 2 cops walking on the Ocean Grove side and the guy took off. I never told my mom what happened until later years. If something had happened, she wouldn't had any idea what or where I was. Taught me a good lesson.
