So what's wrong with you and your kids pre-funding an education account? One would think that is the preferred method here as NAT members continuously rail against handouts of any kind. Have somebody else support your kids whether it's a subsidized loan or an actual grant of some kind? Say it isn't so.

You know it can happen even in this day and age if you start young and put some money away each year. If your kids work when growing up and put a good chunk into a 529 AND work some during college they can get out of school debt free. And maybe have 10K left over. Hint - that happened 2X in the past year here.
