Thanks for the info. I was planning on venting everything through the roof. I never thought it was a good idea venting things out the side wall. I instead the furnace in current house and ran concentric PVC through the roof and lift it up about a foot and a half. Haven't had any issues with snow clogging.
I assume the same sort of vent would work on a water heater.
