"One piece of advice I'd give to all farmers, but especially young farmers trying their best to get started.... YOU HAVE TO GET AWAY. If you don't, your quest for success will eat you up. You put everything you have into making your dream work and pretty soon you are 39 years old with young boys growing up way too fast and you realize that you are missing the real important things in life.
This doesn't mean you have to fly thousands of miles away to some lavish destination. We drive 45 minutes to our destination. It's just enough to get away.
I have done some of my best brainstorming about my business, while sitting away from it all.
I will repeat... YOU HAVE TO GET AWAY.
