East central Iowa | Don't know how big a teardrop camper, but if 3500 or under ranger will handle fine. Most of those are 7' wide which helps alot.
Had a new style ranger couple years ago. Pulled a 6x12x6.5 high enclosed trailer with 3,000 pounds most days and handled fine.
For the money just get a f-150 if trading and be done. Unless you get into 20 ft plus or 5,000 lbs plus. Then use the f-250.
The f-250 will get as good of MPG as anything smaller when pulling the same size camper.
I pull a Keystone 18.5 ft. 5200 gvw camper with a tundra. Would not wont any smaller truck for 500 plus mile trips. Sometimes like to set cruize control and have a relaxed safe trip. Like truck towing camper not camper dictating my drive. | |
