It depends on the state.
In Iowa we can ( or used to) sign a waiver.
We had to provide proof of workman's comp for many customers, even ones in Iowa, as their insurance dictated it. No workman's comp, not welcome on site.
This was in the trucking world, but I assume the same rules would apply.
We formed a separate LLC for this very reason in the trucking world. We pay outside carriers through the LLC that has no employees= no work comp on that specific LLC |
