That was quite a monolog. I wd not recommend a first time buyer put much stock in it.
FYI, if you've not noticed all of the big 3 still make Plain Jane's with rubber.flooring and vinyl seats and normal tailgates. Ford and GM have steps on the bumper and box side to help out, including a pull handle to grab onto.
In some cases the box is easier to get in than older models.
That is a farmer/ranchers choice if he wants to buy top end and beat it to death.
You make it sound like all you have to pick from is $100k Platinums, Denali, Ultimates, and Laramies.
Simply not true.
