I figured I'd get some responses like this. I spent some time riding along with another agronomist and realized pretty quick that every customer has different needs as far as the relationship and sales approach. I think I'm going to have to get good at reading people and situations.


I would suggest asking them how they want to be supported or what are their buying habits?

Everyone is wasting their time if they want you to be there 4 days a week scouting for free, but they will buy from whoever is cheapest no matter what, maybe they don't even want scouting.

I have been on all side of the Ag retail desk, so I understand many of the issues in Ag retail. My biggest frustration is employee turnover, so much so I own most of the application equipment I need to do it myself and think most sales agronomists could be replaced by an app.

There is significant value in employee retention that makes everyone's job easier, when they don't it's hard to create any loyalty.
