Subject: RE: good and bad of 960 field cultivator

Had 2 960s and currently have a 980. There is a big difference in the down pressure springs supporting the shanks in a 960 compared to a 980. I can easily bend a 960 shank back with my hands, a 980.....no way. 980 has a lot more trash clearance ability. A 960 has a rear mounted jack stand that is clumsy to use. Everything on the 980 is up front by the drawbar. Have walking tandem wheels on the wings of a 980. Single tire wheels on the wings of a 960.
