There is no truth to this whatsoever. I own two of these tractors. How closely have you read the operator's manual?

There is no R1 in this transmission. It is an 18 x 9 transmission. As such it has 16 forward speeds because the upper two speeds of the F1 directional clutch are essentially the same as the lower two speeds in the F2 directional clutch. Therefore, there are two different 8th and 9th speeds in this transmission.

There are nine speed ratios in each directional clutch, including R. They start at R3 because the speed of this ratio is roughly akin to F3. It has R3 to R11 ratios under this scenario. There is no way, and no description in the owners manual, to program an R1 ratio.

Furthermore, the inching pedal is not meant to be constantly feathered as the OP suggests. I would think to do so would be detrimental to clutch components in this transmission.

The only way to get what the OP wants on a snow blower is to get transmission that has the creeper option. I would guess these might be few and far between.
