Pittsburg, Kansas | Yes I only learned recently that those lakes supply the water for the lockes to operate. Because of lack of rain and the lakes not refilling fast enough it is slowing traffic through the Panama Canal.
On a completely side note, have a buddy that was a Green Beret in the Vietnam era. He tended to get in trouble with his superiors somewhat regularly. He said when he got in trouble the punishment was being sent to "train" in Panama in the jungle. He got several trips to Panama. LOL
