SC Iowa | Cousin flew B52s, when those museum planes were still at Offutt we toured the place. He was showing us the B52 and said when they lose hydraulics they have to pull a cable to open the bomb bay doors, then he stepped up on the landing gear, reached up and pulled that cable and 20' of bomb doors swung open. Scared the crap out of me, figured the MPs would grab us. I asked how we close them...he said with dead engines you get 10-15 guys on each side and slam them... we just left... | |
