Pittsburg, Kansas | I do that myself sometimes (just tune out). And I'm not 70 yet.
I can hear almost everything. I just don't understand the words. Some frequencies are missing so it makes some words indistinguishable. If I am following a conversation along ok, my brain will interpret the missing words. But as soon as someone says something off the wall or completely off subject, I am totally lost.
Hearing aids help........some.
Edit: on the other hand, it may just be the fact that I am a bit anti social to begin with and just tune out by my nature. The combination of poor hearing and anti social not good for personal friendships. Maybe that is why I like AgTalk. Easy to tune out. :-)
