Eastern Washington State | Yup, I was thinking the same thing. One of my big motivations for getting a reefer trailer was so I could have a floor that was easy to wash out and didn’t absorb chemicals.
My biggest concern with the aluminum floor is its susceptibility to corrosion. I use a fair amount of Paraquat and that stuff really doesn’t like aluminum. Originally I was thinking about making some trays I could set my Paraquat totes on so when they inevitably leak around the valves it’s kept off the floor. I came up with a much simpler idea though, I just made a dip tube so I can suck the Paraquat out of the top. That’s worked really well and no worries about leaks getting on the floor. | |
