 Eastern Washington State | Here are some pics from making/installing the door.
"You just cut the door hole, framed it, framed the part that you cut out and hinged it back in?" - Yes, that was pretty much it. I made the frame first then cut the hole to fit the frame.
There really isn't much structural framing inside the walls. There is a Z shaped piece running from floor to ceiling every 24" or so that the outside skin in riveted to, but thats about it. I positioned my door so I only had to cut through one of those. I cut the hole out with a circular saw. It worked really well and zipped right through everything.
