Subject: Spray Tender Trailer Build

Eastern Washington State
I recently finished my spray tender trailer project and I thought I would share what I did. This has been a 2+ year project, I was able to get the basic functionality of the trailer going last spring and used it all last year, now I've had a chance to finish everything else off and it is "done" at least for the time being. Many of the ideas for this trailer came from you guys and others in the Internet farming hive mind, I figured I talk about what I did in case anyone else would like some ideas.

I used an 48' reefer trailer for my build. There are tradeoffs between and enclosed trailer vs a flatbed but I ended up going the direction I did because I wanted to keep everything inside where its protected from the weather, so far I have no regrets with my choice. For this trailer I had three priorities: 1. Speed, 2. Accuracy, 3. Safety/Cleanliness I feel like I was able to achieve these pretty well.

Starting with the outside of the trailer, I have a hose boom on the left side that swings out with about a 16' reach. The hose boom is on a linear actuator so I can raise it up and down, this also is how it lock it into the transport position on a hook. There is a switch box on the end of the boom that control the linear actuator, as well as having buttons for my pump kill switch and air purge.

I had to add the door to the side of the trailer, which is a pretty big part of this project. I used 2" angle iron for the door frame and to box in around the door itself. There is a piece on the inside and outside and they are bolted together to sandwich the wall of the trailer/door together. Hinges and latch came from Amazon.

The box tubing under the door is 1.5" x 3" and there is a matching piece on the inside so they bolt together. Its there to reinforce the door area and provide a mounting point for the boom swivel.

The stairs was an idea that came from you guys. It flips up and down nicely and is very stable, works awesome. I got the stair treads from eBay.
