Midwestfeeder - 3/9/2024 09:55 Do you load in the top ? Or do you have a short auger to load into the grinder mixer loading auger?

DDGS goes in the supplement hopper on the back of the grinder/mixer.

These pictures are all of the same setup.   The picture with the vertical auger on the corn bin is the current setup.

The tall bulk bin in the rear is the DDGS bin.   Its nothing special, just a Behlen bin with a custom made boot on the bottom with a 8" auger to drop it into the mixer.     If the DDGS is delivered cool, I rarely have much trouble getting it out of the bin.

If it is delivered straight from the E plant, the DDGS is hot and the weather is hot/humid sometimes it will cause some issues.  The worst thing you can do in that situation is to leave it sit in the bin unused for a week or more.    The sooner you start using out of it the better, pulling some out every couple days helps a lot.

Usually its nothing a rubber mallet won't take care of.
