Graymont Illinois | Thought I would buy a USDA Prime ribeye, never bought Prime before. I have had very good beef from this store before, just not Prime. I do not know what happened to this animal, but it was the toughest steak I have ever had. Not just gristle but tough meat. It was hard to cut. It sure looked good in the package. I would like to know how to tell a tender, gristle free piece of meat by looks. I chewed and chewed but every piece I had to spit out eventually.
