Subject: RE: RE -Fuel Line for 7330

Someone is pulling a switcheroo. The barricade hose is SAE J30R14. There are two types 4219BG which is type 1 and for gasoline or type 2 which is rated at higher pressure (50 vs 225 psi).

4219XL and 4219G are the same thing just different branding and is SAE J30R7 which was designed long before ethanol or biodiesel were ever dreamed up.

The 4219G(XL) use a relatively low ACN nitrile rubber inner liner and in E15 would get pretty hard and brittle in a few year or in a high biodiesel blend would do the same and the biodiesel also “sweats” through NBR and the cover starts to look pretty funky after a few years too.

The 4219BF or the new 4219BD is what you want foe modern diesel. The 4219BD is the same materials as 4219BF but without barricade layer which isn’t necessary. It has a HNBR inner layer and will last a really long time. The only thing better is 4219D (J30R9) with a FKM inner layer but only available in 1/4”, 5/16”, and 3/8” and Napa doesn’t carry it.
