Keep in mind when the 80ft Friggstad and Gysler plows were built the only tractors built that could pull them was the 500+ hp Big Buds and Rite tractors and D9 Cats like in the picture. There was less than 400 of those 500 hp BB/Rite tractors made overall.
And people wanted those tractors later on when they were out of Production. Of course we are forgetting those 1156, Tigers, and 525 or 650 Big Buds had large engines, thus Fatter Torque bands... KTA1150, 3506, Large Detroits. I wish they would take that 950/50 Big Bud they redone with the 35 Liter Cat Engine a few years ago to the NTTL and compare it to Modern Tractors to see if it is much more efficient on work per hour.
