When I worked at Deere I usually was connected with the 8000s,I always wondered what the 9000s were pulling .With m ost iowa farms being 80-160 acres ,with a lot of 40 acre fields and waterways,terraces,etc,I wondered how much more the big tractors got done in a day.Now the new 9000s have an 830 horse option,,what is that much power being used for and where?'
It’s a valid question. I don’t see many companies offering 80+ foot wide tillage equipment. Some air seeders are there, but that has to be a pretty small buyer’s group, and even there do they need 200+ more hp than they’ve been getting by with?
