| It’s a diversion. They must of had something come up.
UAL1312 is usually scheduled EWR-SFO. They had to divert for some reason, but they have too much fuel to meet the max landing weight (for the aircraft) at ORD. So they have to fly around for a while to burn off some fuel.
Also, that arrival coming in from the northwest is probably less crowded compared other directions, easier to grab a slot.
That’s also why the time en route is so far off, it is showing the time to SFO.
