Did you really just say to roll a H24 basis contract out to the Z24? This is harsh but that has to be the stupidest post you have made yet. A 50 cent carry and your want to roll that far out? Great way to have a producer sell sub $3 corn next fall. Sorry but you are not providing any sound risk management.

My main point is if you have 50,000 bushels on basis contract and you typically sell 5000 bushel increments dont price all 50,000 at once nor roll all 50,000

Spread out your risk in a way that leaves you comfortable and yet pro active





In the audio you give all the possibilities of what a person can do with a basis contract at expiration. Hopefully most with basis contracts already know they can either roll to a future month or price out. If they didn’t you explain it in great detail. I did notice when offering advice one thing you mentioned was rolling to the Dec. I think that is what that one dude was referring to. Heck it might make sense? Who knows. But I looked at where that would put me on basis and yikes.
